Please help me further understand you and Nina's relationship. I would like to know details about how you felt talking to her, the way she made you feel, the moments when you new you wanted to spend the rest of your life with her, and not just the business side.
Excuse my forwardness, but the depth of love seems suspicious when you met at one of her shows, and you instantly dropped your job as a very prominent officer in the force to be Nina's manager. I know you brought her initially a lot of happiness, but looking back, that was because she was finally not alone and you were the only alternative to loneliness that she knew.
You exploited her.
You beat her.
You held a gun to her head.
You raped her.
Yet she still came back to you time and time again because she loved you. How dare you take advantage of her vulnerability, loneliness, and depression and charm her to fall for you under false pretenses.
And I wonder, what was your excuse to Lisa? While you were beating her mother, and then claiming that no, you did no such thing. What drove you to such insanity? Was it the money? The fame?
It angers me to know that this soulful, powerful women was degraded by such a wicked and selfish boy.
You had no right to be upset or even surprised by her gravitation towards the appeal of violence to solve various issues, including civil rights, because that is what she witnessed from you. You were the one who taught her to love violence, because that was you and she could not help but love you. And you were the one that caused Nina to ferociously beat Lisa.
Even though you finally separated and divorced, the cruelty and violence left in her was a wound sustained from you, never able to heal because it was constantly being ripped back open.
You are a monster and you created one in Nina.
Sincerely,
Anonymous
Camille, this is a very powerful post. I appreciate that you delved deeply into the very complex relationship between Nina and Andy. You posed excellent questions to him and revealed the pain and loneliness that Nina felt that made her cling to him. I also liked that you raised questions about his relationship with Lisa and how he excused his violent behavior to himself and to his daughter. Excellent work!
